Interview with Sarah, graphic designer

When creating a website, there are several things to keep in mind to maximize your success! As we mentioned in an other article, to be ergonomic, a website must have rich content, be user-friendly and have a memorable design. Sarah, a graphic designer, has therefore agreed to answer our questions about design, to help you create a website that meets your expectations!

1. Hello Sarah, thanks for answering our questions. Where does your passion for design come from?

I’ve always been interested in arts. I am a very artistic person and art courses have always been my favorite classes since I was very young. It was when I chose the graphic option in high school that I quickly knew that I had found what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

2. What are your favorite WebSelf templates?

I like very colorful templates like Tada Bar / Lounge, Foodie, and BoomJuices! They are very dynamic and they represent my personal style.

3. What design tips would you give our customers?

The best design advice I had as soon as I started studying art was not to be afraid of white spaces. When you start a new design, you often tend to want to fill all spaces with design elements. However, this is often not the best way to go. Leaving white spaces helps highlight other elements around them!

4. What are this year’s trendy colors?

As you may have read in this blog article, the color of the year, according to Pantone is Greenery, which is a refreshing green. Bright and very saturated colors such as royal blue or red are also very trendy. On the other hand, you need to stay within the company’s spirit, for a consistent website and a timeless brand image.

5. Where do you get your inspiration? Do you have blogs/websites to suggest?

I’m often inspired by Behance to keep up with the latest design trends. This allows me to see what is happening around the world. I also visit Awwwards, which is a website devoted to web design. This allows me to get up to date with trends that apply more specifically to websites.

6. To whom would you recommend using Webself?

Anyone! This is one of WebSelf’s best feature, the fact that it is accessible to anyone! There is no programming or computer knowledge required to use the editor. If you know how to drag and drop, you know how to use WebSelf, it's that simple!
